Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 pound raw jumbo shrimp peeled, cleaned and deveined
  • 1/3 lime juice plus more to squeeze over the shrimp after cooking
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 2 tsp chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes more or less to taste
  • 1 tsp paprika
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic grated
  • 1/4 cup fresh cilantro minced

Method

  1. Thaw shrimp (if frozen), clean and devein. You can leave the tail on or off.
  2. Add all ingredients to a ziploc bag. I love these bag holders for hands free meal prep! Shake well and refrigerate 30 minutes to marinate.
  3. Select the preheat option on the air fryer and preheat for 4 minutes at 400°F.
  4. Place shrimp in the air fryer basket in a single layer, careful not to crowd the basket, cook shrimp in batches if needed.
  5. Cook at 400°F for 3-4 minutes (check for doneness at 3 minutes, you don’t want to over cook the shrimp)
  6. Garnish cooked shrimp with additional seasonings to taste, a squeeze of lime juice over top and extra cilantro.
  7. Serve chili lime shrimp alone, in a rice bowl with black beans, salsa, and avocado, or in shrimp tacos with cabbage slaw.
