Ingredients
- 16 ounce boxed angel food cake mix + ingredients to prepare (it's probably just water)
- 8 ounces cream cheese softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 tsp almond extract
- 8 ounce container whipped topping
- 2-21 ounce cans Cherry Fruit Filling
Method
- Prepare the angel food cake mix according to package directions and bake in a 9x13 baking pan. Let cool completely. When cool, cut into 1 inch cubes.
- Beat cream cheese and sugar together with an electric hand mixer until smooth. Spoon the whipped topping and almond extract to cream cheese mixture. Beat again until creamy and smooth.
- Place half of the cubed angel food cake into the bottom of a trifle dish or a baking dish. Spread half of the cream cheese mixture over the angel food cake. Evenly spoon 1 can of the Cherry Fruit Filling.
- Repeat the layers.
- Refrigerate at least 2 hours, up to one day before serving.
