Notes
- How to reheat leftovers?
- Reheat leftovers in the microwave or in a saucepan on the stove over medium heat until warmed through.
- How to store leftovers?
- Refrigerate any leftovers in an airtight container up to 4 days.
- Can I cook this on high?
- While you can cook the pork on high, it really is best to cook it on low for a long period of time to get the most tender and juicy meat. If you want to bump up the cooking process, cook on high for 5 hours.
- What else can I do with pulled pork?
- So many options for pulled pork other than sandwiches! BBQ pulled pork is delicious over nachos, on sliders (especially Cuban sliders!), on a BBQ pulled pork pizza, topped on macaroni and cheese, or even over a baked potato or French fries.
- Can I freeze this?
- Yes! Let the pork cool completely and place in a freezer safe bag or container. Freeze up to 4 months. Thaw in the fridge for 24 hours before reheating or place the frozen pork in a baking dish and bake at 350 degrees F until warmed throughout (about 1 hour).
- Can I substitute the root beer?
- Instead of root beer you can use Coca Cola or Dr. Pepper. Do not use a diet soda.
