Crock Pot Dr Pepper London Broil Recipe

London broil is slow cooked with Dr Pepper, BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, Dijon mustard, garlic, and seasonings until tender and flavorful.

Gravy
  • 2 cups crock pot cooking liquid
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons cold water

Method
 

  1. Place sliced onion in the bottom of a 6-quart crock pot.
  2. Pat the London broil dry and season both sides with salt, pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika.
  3. Place the beef over the onions.
  4. Whisk together Dr Pepper, beef broth, BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, Dijon mustard, and garlic.
  5. Pour the mixture over the beef.
  6. Cover and cook on LOW for about 5 hours, checking around 4½ hours for tenderness.
  7. Remove the beef and let it rest for 10 minutes. Slice thinly against the grain.
  8. For the gravy, strain 2 cups of the cooking liquid into a saucepan and bring to a simmer.
  9. Whisk together cornstarch and cold water. Slowly whisk the slurry into the simmering liquid.
  10. Cook for 2–4 minutes, stirring, until thickened.
  11. Serve the sliced London broil with the gravy spooned over the top.
  12. Serving suggestion: Serve over mashed potatoes with your favorite green vegetable for a cozy, easy crock pot dinner.
