Crock Pot Pepper Steak - Easy Beef & Peppers Recipe

This easy Crock Pot Pepper Steak recipe combines tender beef round steak, colorful bell peppers, onions, and a savory sauce made with hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, soy sauce, garlic, and spices. Slow cooked until tender and served over rice, it's an easy family dinner everyone will love.

  1. Place the beef in the freezer for about 10 minutes to make it slightly firm and easier to slice. Slice into thin strips against the grain.
  2. Heat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Sear beef in batches for 4–5 minutes per side. Remove to a plate.
  3. Add bell peppers, onion, and tomato paste to a 6-quart crock pot.
  4. In a bowl, whisk together hoisin sauce, oyster sauce, water, flour, soy sauce, garlic, cumin, oregano, paprika, and crushed red pepper.
  5. Pour the sauce mixture into the crock pot. Top with the seared beef.
  6. Cover and cook on LOW for 7–8 hours or HIGH for 4 hours, until the beef is tender.
  7. Serve hot over cooked rice.

Notes

Freeze the beef for 10 minutes before slicing! It firms up just enough to make cutting thin, even strips much easier.
