Hasselback Turkey and Cheese Sandwich

The perfect busy weeknight dinner or simple lunch.
Prep Time 15 minutes

Total Time 20 minutes
Servings: 4 servings

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 1 loaf uncut bread such as Italian
  • 1/2 pound deli turkey
  • 1/2 pound sliced cheddar cheese
  • bacon cooked, optional
  • 4 tbsp butter melted
  • 2 tsp mustard
  • 1 tsp Lawry’s garlic parsley salt mix

Method

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Using a sharp knife or electric bread knife, cut slits into the bread about an inch apart, don’t cut all the way through, just 3/4 of the way down to be able to stuff the bread.
  3. Stuff every other opening with cheese, bacon (if using) and turkey. Keep in mind we’ll be cutting these into sandwiches, which is why you'll stuff every other pocket.
  4. Mix the melted butter and seasoning together and brush over the top of the bread and down into the slices of bread. Bake for 5-10 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Slice the bread into sandwiches.
