Overnight French Toast Casserole (Easy Holiday Breakfast Recipe)

This easy Overnight French Toast Casserole is the perfect make-ahead holiday breakfast! Rich, creamy, and baked until golden, it's ideal for Christmas morning, Easter brunch, Thanksgiving, or weekend gatherings.

  1. Grease a 9x13-inch baking dish and add the cubed bread.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, beat the softened cream cheese with the granulated sugar and brown sugar until light and smooth.
  3. Add the eggs, milk, maple syrup, vanilla, cinnamon, and salt. Mix with an electric mixer until completely smooth.
  4. Pour the custard mixture evenly over the bread cubes. Gently press the bread down so every piece absorbs the mixture.
  5. Cover tightly and refrigerate for at least 1 hour or overnight.
  6. When ready to bake, preheat the oven to 350°F.
  7. Bake uncovered for 50–55 minutes until the casserole is puffed and the center is set. If the top begins browning too quickly, loosely cover with aluminum foil.
  8. Allow the casserole to cool for about 15 minutes before serving.
  9. Dust generously with powdered sugar and serve with fresh berries and warm maple syrup.
