Air Fryer Buffalo Wings

Once you make these spicy, saucy buffalo chicken wings in the air fryer, you'll never make them any other way again!
Prep Time 15 minutes
Cook Time 22 minutes
Total Time 37 minutes
Servings: 12 wings

Equipment

Ingredients

  • 12 chicken wings
  • 1 cup Frank's Red Hot Hot Sauce
  • ¼ cup butter melted
  • Salt to taste
  • Pepper to taste
  • 1-2 teaspoons canola oil
  • Ranch and blue cheese dressing for dipping
  • Celery and carrot sticks for serving

Method

  1. You can use frozen wings- just make sure they are completely thawed before cooking.
  2. For maximum chicken wing crispiness, pat the wings dry with a paper towel.
  3. Prepare the wings: Rub the chicken wings with 1-2 teaspoons of canola oil, or your favorite cooking oil. Season with salt and pepper to taste on both sides.
  4. Press the pre-heat button to preheat the air fryer at 380°F for 4 minutes. Putting the wings into a pre-heated basket also ensures crispiness.
  5. Cook: Place chicken wings into the preheated air fryer basket, do not crowd the basket, you may have to cook in batches. Make sure there is enough room between the wings for the air to circulate. I fit 10 wings into my 6 quart basket comfortably.
  6. Cook the wings at 380°F  for 18 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  7. Increase the heat to 400 degrees and continue to cook another 3 minutes. (super crispiness!)
  8. Prepare the buffalo sauce: Meanwhile, while the wings are cooking, melt the butter in a small bowl. Add the hot sauce and whisk together. Add salt and pepper to taste.
  9. When the wings are finished cooking, add them to the mixing bowl with the sauce and toss them until each wing is well coated.
  10. Serve with ranch and blue cheese to dip and celery and carrot sticks. Enjoy!
