Once you make wings in the air fryer, you may never go back to any other way to prepare them. The air fryer makes chicken wings crispy and flavorful. My life was changed for the better once I discovered I can cook wings in my air fryer.
It’s so easy you’ll be making chicken wings all the time!
You can use any sauce or seasonings you like. We’re making buffalo wings using hot sauce and butter and I’m also making a lemon pepper dry rub. The flavor possibilities are endless! Just a little prep work and in 20 minutes you’ll be enjoying the most delicious air fryer wings ever!

What you’ll need
An Air Fryer
May I suggest my absolute favorite air fryer- the Cosori TurboBlaze. I have had this air fryer for so long and I love it so much! It has a large 6 quart basket, but is small enough to sit on your counter full time. The basket is dishwasher safe, so it’s always easy clean up. I use my Cosori many times a week!

- 12 chicken wings- or as many as you’d like to make! If using more than 16 wings you might need to make more buffalo sauce
- Frank’s Red Hot Sauce– or your favorite hot sauce
- Unsalted butter, melted- for the sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1-2 teaspoons canola oil- or your favorite cooking oil
- Ranch and blue cheese for dipping
- Celery and carrot sticks for serving
How to make it
You can use frozen wings- just make sure they are completely thawed before cooking.
For maximum chicken wing crispiness, pat the wings dry with a paper towel.
Prepare the wings: Rub the chicken wings with 1-2 teaspoons of canola oil, or your favorite cooking oil. Season with salt and pepper to taste on both sides.
Press the pre-heat button to preheat the air fryer at 380°F for 4 minutes. Putting the wings into a pre-heated basket also ensures crispiness.
Cook: Place chicken wings into the preheated air fryer basket, do not crowd the basket, you may have to cook in batches. Make sure there is enough room between the wings for the air to circulate. I fit 10 wings into my 6 quart basket comfortably.
Cook the wings at 380°F for 18 minutes, flipping halfway through.
Increase the heat to 400 degrees and continue to cook another 3 minutes. (super crispiness!)
Prepare the buffalo sauce: Meanwhile, while the wings are cooking, melt the butter in a small bowl. Add the hot sauce and whisk together. Add salt and pepper to taste.
When the wings are finished cooking, add them to the mixing bowl with the sauce and toss them until each wing is well coated.
Serve with ranch and blue cheese to dip and celery and carrot sticks. Enjoy!
Lemon Pepper Dry Rub Wings
You can coat your wings in any sauce or dry rub you like! My husband loves lemon pepper, so we did a lemon pepper dry rub as well. It’s so easy!
First, ensure your wings are completely thawed, if they were frozen. Pat dry with a paper towel, for the most crispy wing.
Rub the wings with 1-2 teaspoons of your favorite cooking oil. Sprinkle over lemon pepper seasoning to taste and and press the seasoning in to the wings.
Preheat the air fryer to 380 degrees Fahrenheit for 4 minutes.

Other delicious dry rub suggestions: Old Bay seasoning, season salt, Montreal steak seasoning, Kinder’s Buttery Steakhouse, a dry BBQ rub, garlic salt, so many possibilities!
