Halloween Jack Skellington Cheese Ball

If you’re looking for the ultimate Halloween party appetizer, look no further than this Jack Skellington Cheese Ball!
Prep Time 20 minutes
chill time 2 hours
Total Time 2 hours 20 minutes
Servings: 20 servings

Ingredients

  • 16 oz cream cheese softened (2 bricks)
  • 2 cups white sharp cheddar cheese shredded (substitute mozzarella or pepper jack cheese, as long as it's white)
  • 1 packet ranch seasoning mix
  • Black jumbo olives for the face OR Black decorating gel
  • Crackers, pretzels, and veggie sticks (for serving)

Method

  1. Make the cheese mixture – In a large bowl, mix together cream cheese, cheddar, and ranch seasoning.
  2. Shape the ball – Place the mixture on a sheet of plastic wrap and form it into a ball. Wrap tightly and refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or overnight for best results.
  3. Add Jack’s face – Using a sharp knife cut a jumbo black olive in half and slice the tops at an angle for the eyes. Slice more olives for the stitched mouth. I found adding the longer slices for the stitches first and then filling in the smile with shorter olives slices the easiest. Use small triangles for the nose.
  4. Tip: Arranging the olives on a plate before adding to the cheese ball cuts down on mistakes. Use food grade tweezers to keep the face clean.
  5. Place on a platter with crackers, pretzels, or veggie sticks. Watch your guests smile as they dig into Jack’s spooky face!
