  • A large rimmed sheet pan, I use a 15″x21″ size and a batch fits perfectly. You can use 2 smaller 11″x17″ sheet pans
  • Parchment paper
  • 2- 9-ounce bags of oyster crackers– Normally I am all about the least expensive generic options- but in this case I highly recommend splurging for the name brand.
  • 1 cup canola oil– or use vegetable or another neutral tasting oil
  • 2 tablespoons dried dill
  • 1 1/2 tablespoon garlic salt– such as Lawry’s brand with the parsley flakes

How To Make It

Step 1: Preheat the oven
Set your oven to 250°F.

Step 2: Prepare your baking pan
Line a large 21×15-inch sheet pan (or two smaller 11×17-inch pans) with parchment paper. Set aside.

Step 3: Make the seasoning
In a mixing bowl or large measuring cup, whisk together:

  • Canola oil
  • Dried dill
  • Garlic salt

Step 4: Toss the crackers
In a large mixing bowl, add 1 bag of oyster crackers.
Pour half the oil mixture over the crackers and give it a good stir.
Add the second bag of crackers, then pour in the rest of the oil mixture.
Stir until all the crackers are evenly coated.

Step 5: Spread and bake
Spread the seasoned crackers out in an even layer on your prepared pan(s).
Bake for 10 minutes, then give them a stir and bake for another 5 minutes.

Step 6: Cool and store
Let the crackers cool completely on the pan for about 20 minutes.
Once cooled, store them in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 weeks (if they last that long!).

Simple and easy snack. I’ve been wanting to make these for ages so I bought a box of them use the whole 19 ounce box doing half at a time and stirring them in slow slowly after each half. I spoon them out onto a greased. Nonstick cookie sheet it is very big and heavy duty. I picked a couple up to taste while they were still warm and they are delicious.! I am taking these in a bowl after they cooled to a couples Small Group at church at one of the couples that is hosting I will also be bringing roast beef sliders. The theme for the week is Appetizers and desserts. I wanna make these ahead of time so all I have to do is focus on the sliders on Monday night the house smells divine. This might go over well for a Super Bowl party snack also. Thanks for the recipe.
