A bottle of white wine vinegar, a bottle of Dijon mustard, a jar of apricot preserves, and a pink measuring cup filled with brown sugar are arranged on a wooden surface in a kitchen.

Ingredients

For the Ham:

For the Glaze:

  • 1 jar apricot preserves (13–18 ounces)
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons white wine vinegar

Substitutions: Use orange marmalade or peach preserves instead of apricot for a fun twist. Spicy brown mustard or grainy stone ground mustard can be used in place of the Dijon mustard.

How to Make Apricot Glazed Ham

Step 1: Prep the Ham

Preheat your oven to 325°F. Place the spiral-sliced ham cut-side down in a roasting pan or large baking dish.

Add about 1 inch of water to the bottom of the pan to keep the ham juicy while baking.

Cover loosely with foil.

Step 2: Bake

Bake for 10 minutes per pound, or until the ham is heated through.
(For an 8-pound ham, that’s about 1 hour 20 minutes.)

💡 Remember: your ham is already cooked—you’re just warming it up!

Step 3: Make the Apricot Glaze

While the ham is baking, combine in a saucepan:

  • Apricot preserves
  • Brown sugar
  • Butter
  • Dijon mustard
  • White wine vinegar

Cook over medium heat, stirring until smooth and bubbly.

Let it simmer for 2–3 minutes until slightly thickened and glossy.

Step 4: Glaze the Ham

Remove the ham from the oven and brush half of the glaze generously over the top, making sure to get in between the slices.

Return to the oven uncovered for 10–15 minutes to caramelize.

Step 5: Broil for That Sticky Finish

Turn the oven to broil.

Brush more glaze in between all the slices, then broil for 3–5 minutes, watching closely so it doesn’t burn.

Step 6: Rest & Serve

Let the ham rest for 10–15 minutes before slicing.

Serve with the remaining glaze spooned over the top—and get ready for everyone to rave about it!

  • Glaze at the end so it doesn’t burn
  • Broil carefully—it caramelizes fast!
  • Careful not to overcook-The ham is already cooked, we just need to heat it through. Bake for 10 minutes per pound of ham.
